a.  What is the purpose of the site?
  • The main purpose of “Youtube” is to allow people from all over the world to upload and share video clips of different content. This is the place which provides a forum for a people to connect, inform and inspire others worldwide. Basically, “YouTube” is a distribution platform for original content creators and advertisers.
b.  Who is the intended audience?
  • People who are literate.
  • People who have access to internet (via personal computer or smartphone).
  • People who have some very basic education.
  • Mostly targeting youth, however even elders are preferred.
  • People who want to use this for leisure.
  • People and organizations who want a platform for social media marketing.
         In simple worlds, it’s everyone!

    c.  Do you think that the site reaches its intended audience ? Why or why not?
    • Yes, YouTube had reaches its intended audience. According to comScore data, YouTube has a huge audience, reaching 81.2% of Internet users in the U.S. are visiting YouTube website. Unsurprisingly, younger visitors tend to spend more time on the website. In March 2015, YouTube drew 31.8 million users aged 18 to 24 which is also 98.3%of U.S. Internet users in that age bracket who spent an average of almost 10 hours on the site. Meanwhile, the platform attracted 19.4 million visitors 65 and older (74.4% of Internet users in that demo) who spent an average of almost 4 hours using the video-streaming service.


    d.  Is the site useful to you ? Why or why not ?
    • Yes, YouTube is very useful to us. Because YouTube already become a website that was indispensable in daily life. Whenever we want to search for the information, YouTube website will be our first choice, because YouTube not only can provide us the explanation but also with the video that show us the solution step by step. Other that searching for information, we also visited YouTube website for entertainment, for example, we will listen to the song and watch the music video and even movie via YouTube website, this very help us to reduce our stress.
    e.  List one interesting fact or issue that this site addresses.
    • When YouTube first launched its dedicated “Kids” app earlier year 2015, parents welcomed the opportunity to be able to keep their children away from the more adult content found on the larger YouTube network, thanks to the new app’s curated selection of kid-friendly videos. But the app soon came under fire from consumer watchdog groups who claimed YouTube was not doing enough to protect kids from inappropriate content, including references to sex, drugs, alcohol and more. 
    • In Oct 2015, YouTube is beginning to address this problem with an update that will help parents better restrict the type of content a child can access on YouTube Kids. This feature and more, including Chrome cast and Apple TV support as well as guest-curated playlists, will arrive in a new version of the app due in a few weeks’ time, says YouTube. 
    • The problem YouTube Kids means to address was significant. Children today regularly visit YouTube for things like educational videos, cartoons, music videos, web series, and much more. But because the site lacked easy-to-implement parental controls, kids would often stumble upon content through YouTube’s recommendations on via search which was not exactly “kid-safe.” For example, an innocent search for Elmo videos could see kids ending up on a video of Elmo cursing. 
    • Instead, with YouTube Kids, the idea was to offer a simplified user interface for interacting with YouTube where videos were vetted and curated into high-level categories like “Shows,” “Music,” “Learning,” and “Explore.”

    f.  Would you encourage others to visit the site ?
    • Yes, we would like encourage others to visit the site because YouTube website is really a great website and it provides an endless source of useful information. But, as with other Internet search engines, it's also rife with questionable content and inappropriate user comments that are easy for computer-savvy kids to find and view. This isn't likely to change, even with the newly created content-specific channels such as Gaming, Music, or Kids or with the paid, ad-free channel, YouTube Red. In addition, in fall 2016, YouTube debuted its Community feature for YouTube channel owners, which provides live video capabilities. Users are also able to text through the feature and share animated GIFs and images to connect with fans, who can sign up to receive notifications whenever hosts post something.
    g.  How could this site be improved ?
    • YouTube website actually already was a good website, but we think YouTube can improve by adding the download function in their website, because by adding the download function in their website can make users more easily to save the video they need.
